Roughs the first assignment.

In addition to recreating the first bad ad, I chose to do the one on pro music rentals & sales.

I did 10 sketches reassembling the ad and putting a new one together. Afterwards, I chose two I liked the most and made four roughs of it and carried on.

A Bad Advertisement & A Good Advertisemnt

The first photo is an example of what I consider a good ad. It promotes the individual to practice and engage in having safe sexual intercourse. As you can see, the guy is denying the woman in bed because he has hepatitis c and doesn't want to participate in giving it to her. The ad is selling to the individual who has not been as fortunate as others and is offering free std exams and money to participate in this research study. Their client is the individual with hepatitis c. This ad is more so a descriptive ad that will eventually lead into an informative since it is a research study organization.  It is successful, because it gives personal contact regarding the issue of an infection that could potentially kill you. It is unsuccessful in a way because it is not as informative as some people would like it to be and for that, it dismisses their trust.

Okay. What the fuck? Since when did a decent, reliable car have anything to do with how you look or whether or not you have a plant growing out of your head? In this ad, they are trying to sell the newest 2011 Jeep which is engineered to be one of the years most successful cars. Their target audience is the young, alternative the individual looking for a more fuel efficient car, more so middle class economy who is looking for a car with big space that doesn't run on a lot of gas. Their client looks like it would be a mother with children(soccer mom) or just the average family. This ad is more so persuasive because there is little to no description on it. It is unsuccessful because the girl on the top is totally irrelevant and the car is not just meant for younger people and the girl does nothing to show that this is a sucessful, well engineered car.

Personal Goals..

What I want to accomplish in this class and furthermore are my computer skills. I want to be able to be given a task or assignment from my actual job (which is relative to this class) and get it done creatively and somewhat impress my authority figures. I am also new to the field of advertising, and would like to elaborate on what I already know. From this class, I would like to see myself in a different job, hopefully a magazine and go from there.
